The Air Conditioning Systems and Services business of Ingersoll Rand
provides heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems that enhance
the quality and comfort of the air in homes and buildings around the
world. Its offerings, under the Trane and American Standard Heating
& Air Conditioning brands, include energy efficient systems, service
and parts support and advanced building controls.
Responsible for developing long-term customer relationships and
maximizing account penetration and customer retention with building
owner and contractor accounts with the goal of increasing controls &
contracting sales for the district office. The Account Manager - Team
Leader is responsible for development and mentoring of account managers
on the team and providing feedback to the sales manager relative to
opportunities and obstacles to growing the business.
- Gathers and validates preliminary information and performs facility
walk-through, construction plan review or other requirements.
- Provides knowledge and consultation in the form of developing HVAC
system related solutions for the customer's problems, including
financial and performance-based considerations. Develops project
fulfillment schedule with project team.
- Determines needs, develops and executes an account specific business
plan to identify the long term, mutual support requirements required to
facilitate a strong, profitable and successful partnership.
- Selects, prices, and integrates equipment, controls, and services for
each project, as needed.
- Prepares, finalizes, and reviews preliminary proposal and validates
the preliminary proposal (where applicable) with customer.
- Prepares and reviews contract terms and conditions using standard
Trane contract templates when applicable.
- Presents the proposal and negotiates price, terms, and conditions with
customer.
- Prepares transition documents and communicates project readiness for
assignment to operations team.
- Resolves major deviations from scope with team after Project Scope
Validation.
- Provides total account business activity reports and annual forecasts.
- Coordinates with Estimators in the interpretation of specifications
and preparation of proposals. Determines proposal price and selling
strategy.
- Authorizes replacement, credit, or refund as necessary to facilitate
the refund/exchange process including negotiation of back charges and
customer disputes.
- Assists Sales Manager in performance monitoring and appraisal of team
members.
- Responsible for coaching and mentoring team members.
- Responsible for communication flow between team members and business
leadership team.
- Schedules, coordinates, plans, and leads team meetings on a regular
basis.

Education Standard: Associate's degree in eng, eng tech, or bus mgmt
Education Type: Associate's degree
- Utilizes Account management process to identify key
customers and to develop specific action plans to grow identified
accounts.
- Identifies potential opportunities with existing and new customers.
- Collects project data and compares to the office's capabilities.
- Converts leads into opportunities by assigning the appropriate sales
process, identifying the appropriate contact within the customer's
organization, identifying required sales team members, making
assignments, and communicating the next steps in the process to maximize
share of customer's business.
- Develops multiple relationships with buying influences in the
customer's organization, including executive level customers, facility
managers, project managers, project engineers, construction, and
purchasing.
Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required.
- Provides marketplace feedback, including competitive information,
customer expectations, industry trends, etc.
- Facilitates financing and legal/contract review process.
- Meets or exceeds gross margin requirements.
